In the statement made by TÜ, it was stated that while the preparations for the world's largest Aerospace and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST 2021 continue at full speed, the pre-selection processes of the rockets that will compete at the festival have been completed.
In the statement, it was stated that a record number of applications were made to the Rocket Competition organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST to increase the interest of students in the fields of space technologies and rocket science and to develop their skills in this field.
"While 544 teams applied to the competition, which will host students for the 4th time this year, the Simurg Rocket Team, which consists of all TÜ students, was among the candidates participating in the middle altitude category of the competition. Within the scope of the competition, the teams received the Preliminary Design Report (ÖTR), Critical Design Report (KTR). ), the Firing Readiness Report (AHR), Simurg Rocket Team successfully passed the pre-selection according to the ETR evaluation results. The teams that are entitled to receive financial support will be determined according to the results of the KTR.
The Rocket Competition, organized by Roketsan and the TÜBİTAK Defense Industry Research and Development Institute (SAGE) under the umbrella of the T3 Foundation, will be held in Tuz Gölü on September 1-12. The ranking teams will be announced at TEKNOFEST, which will be held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport on September 21-26.
