The DENİZKURDU-2021 Exercise, which will be carried out by the Naval Forces Command in the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean, will start tomorrow.

Payal informed that the exercise, which will start tomorrow with the departure of troops and ships from bases and ports, will be carried out in 3 phases: preparation for operation, free play, port visits and distinguished observer day, Payal said, warfare, submarine defense warfare, air defense warfare, amphibious operations, mine warfare, electronic warfare, control operations at sea, submarine personnel rescue training and actual weapon firing, on the basis of a generic scenario during the free play phase of the exercise between 28 May and 2 June. Payal explained that the 83 ships participating in the exercise will visit 22 ports between 2-4 June, as the ships will not open to the public in accordance with the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) measures. "DENİZKURDU series exercises are generally at a strategic level and the testing of newly procured ammunition or weapons is not included as the main purpose. Therefore, we try our newly purchased weapons in activities we have planned independently from these exercises. It is carried out as procedures to carry out combat preparation training. It is not planned to specifically test a particular weapon. "

Yalçın Payal, upon asking whether members of the press will be admitted to the ships during the exercise, said, "We are going through a pandemic process. Therefore, the Naval Forces have to carry out their activities in line with the measures taken throughout the country, even in some places, in order to carry out their duties without disruption. When asked about the number of personnel to take part in the exercise, Payal noted that approximately 25 thousand 500 personnel will take part in the DENİZKURDU-2021 Exercise.

Payal, who visited the Exercise Control Center after the press conference, told reporters that the exercise to be performed according to the generic scenario will be controlled from the Exercise Control Center.

Stating that around 150 personnel will work here to play the generic scenario, Payal said, "The exercise will be controlled from here, it will be directed and managed by the units and headquarters at sea according to the scenario to be controlled from here. are at the level.
